Krist Novoselic:
Krist Novoselic (rođen kao Chris Anthony Novoselic, Compton, SAD, 16. svibnja 1965.) je američki glazbenik hrvatskog podrijetla. Najpoznatiji je kao basist grunge sastava Nirvana.
Pohođao je gimnaziju u Zadru (kad sam vec kod Zadra...KARMEN kiss), 1980. Zajedno s Kurt Cobainom je osnivač sastava Nirvana, koji je izvršio veliki utjecaj na rock glazbu 90-tih godina 20. stoljeća. Nakon tragične smrti Cobaina i raspada Nirvane Novoselic je povremeno nastupao i s drugim sastavima. Trenutno se bavi politikom u SAD-u.
David Eric Grohl:
David Eric Grohl (Warren, Ohio 14. siječnja 1969.), poznatiji kao Dave Grohl, američki je rock glazbenik i tekstopisac.
Mnogi ga zovu „najljubaznijim čovjekom u rocku“, zahvaljući njegovu prizemljenom i bezbrižnom karakteru. Bio je bubnjar najpoznatijeg grunge benda, Nirvane, od 1990. do 1994. godine, kada se bend raspao nakon smrti frontmena Kurta Cobaina. 1995. osnovao je bend Foo Fighters.
Grohl je započeo svoju glazbenu karijeru 80-ih godina 20. stoljeća kao bubnjar nekoliko lokalnih bendova iz Washingtona, od kojih je najznačajniji punk-rock bend Scream.
A o Nirvani:
Nirvana je bio svjetski poznati i popularan američki glazbeni sastav, začetnik grunge smjera u glazbi.
Sa svojim singlom "Smells Like Teen Spirit" iz albuma Nevermind (1991), Nirvana je postala svjetski poznata, a osnovana je 1987. godine u Seattleu.
Druge grunge grupe iz Seattle-a kao što su Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam i Soundgarden su isto tako stekle veliku slušanost, tako da je u vrijeme 1990-tih godina rock ponovno postao jedan
TKO JE UBIO KURTA COBAINA???
1. Krajem 1993. godine brak Kurt-a i Courtney je bio pred raspadom, ona je imala aferu sa Billy Corgan-om iz benda Smashing Pumpkins, a spominju se i još neki ljudi s kojima je imala aferu u isto to vrijeme, i u slučaju razvoda, izgubila bi sve Kurtove milione, svu imovinu, izgubila bi skrbništvo nad kćerkom Frances Bean Cobain, u medijima bi bila progonjena mnogo snažnijim intenzitetom nego poslije intervjua datog za Vanity Fair i u najboljem slučaju, bi dobila pola imovine. Samo u slučaju Kurtovog samoubojstva, ona dobiva sve, i pare i kćerku i pravo na neobjavljen Nirvanin materijal – kao nasljednik autorskih prava Kurt-a Cobain-a i biva lišena prozivke po medijima.
2. Courtney je bila spremna na sve ovo, a naročito poslije činjenice da je Kurt u ožujku 1994. godine napisao oporuku iz koje ju je potpuno izbacio. Ta oporuka nije bio pravovažna, jer Kurta su ubili prije nego je stigao da ju potpiše i ovjeri.
3. Dakle ključni motiv za njegovo ubojstvo je bio konflikt interesa i milioni dolara. Courtney je pobjesnjela kada je Kurt odbio da Nirvana bude Headliner na proljetnoj turneji po Americi, čime je bacio u nepovrat nekoliko miliona dolara.
4. Raspad Nirvane je bio također neminovan. Cobain je izgubio interes za taj projekt, kao da je Nirvana zatvorila krug svog postojanja, prošla kroz sve faze kroz koje je trebala proći i rekla sve što je imala. Jedino što ga je interesiralo bio je novi projekt sa Michael Stipe-om, pjevačem REM-a, koji nikad nije ugledao svjetlost dana.
5. Ovim njegovim stavom, kompanija Geffen je također bila ugrožena, jer bi ostala u tom slučaju bez možda svog najboljeg klijenta, na kome je samo na albumu Nevermind zaradila 50 miliona dolara čistog profita, a ukupni troškovi oko snimanja albuma su bili 300.000 dolara, što je minorno za ovakav antologijski i revolucionarni album, ako se zna da je ista cifra jedva dovoljna za doručak Michael Jackson-a i njegovih ljubimaca. Procjenjuje se da je Geffen zaradio mnogo više na Nirvani poslije Kurtove smrti. Možda su i oni proračunali da im više odgovara smrt Kurt-a....?!
6. Savršeno je iskorištena činjenica da je Cobain bio narkoman, labilan i antisocijalan lik, kronično iznerviran, te mu je bilo veoma lako zalijepiti etiketu da je neuračunljiv, suicidalan, a još naročito ako se uzme u obzir radni naziv za album In Utero “I hate myself and I want to die”, uz njegovu strast prema oružju, dobivate dobitnu kombinaciju. ( Kurt je imao revolver Taurus kalibar 38, poluautomatski pištolj Beretta 380 i američku automatsku pušku Colt AR 15/16 i 25 kutija municije – sve ovo mu je oduzela policija u petak 18. marta 1994. kad ga je Courtney prijavila policiji, da namjerava da se ubije, dok je njegova verzija bila da je pokušavao da se zaštiti i drži na odstojanju u Courtney, te se zabarikadirao u kupatilu.
7. Lokalni roker, Eldon Hoke, poznatiji kao El Duce, koji liči više na dželata iz srednjeg vijeka, nego na rokera, je posvjedočio da mu je Courtney ponudila 50000 dolara da ubije Kurta. On je 1996. bio dva puta na testu – detektoru laži i oba puta je prošao. Dao je i intervju za dokumentarac Kurt & Courtney u kome je sve ispričao. Ubijen je 7 dana poslije toga – “slučajno” ga je zgazio volak! Kao da gledamo X-files...
8. Prvi osumnjičeni za ubojstvo Kurt-a Cobain-a je Michael Dewitt, muška dadilja u rezidenciji Cobain-ovih. Bio je u Rimu sa Couurtney kad je pokušan prvi pokušaj ubojstva Kurta, i od 2. do 7. aprila se ne zna gdje je bio – nestao je i iznenada se pojavio kod Courtney 7. aprila u Los Angeles-u ( Kurt je ubijen 5. aprila u 2h pm po lokalnom vremenu u Seatttlu). U Rimu, prema istrazi i svjedočenjima očevidaca, navodi se da se on spremao da napusti hotel, da podigne pare, ostavi Courtney pismo u kome joj saopćtava da se razvodi od nje. Umjesto toga, 3. marta 1994. on završava u bolnici na ispiranju stomaka, 20 sati je u komi, Courtney je našminkana i sređena dok njega vode u bolnicu i njegov organizam uspijeva da preživi udar 50 tableta rohipnola ( lijek sličan valijumu ) pomiješan sa šampanjcem, navodno je prvi put pokušao da se ubije, a priča se o oproštajnom pismu, koje je ustvari bilo oproštajno za Courtney.
Da podsjetim, Kurt je bio ekstremno indirektan, sve je saopćtavao na posredan nacin. To se još dalo primjetiti u načinima na koje je morao da otpusti neadekvatne bubnjare, pa do ideje obraćanja publici preko pisma u unutrašnjem omotu albuma In Utero, što naravno Geffen nije pristao. U Rimu su se Kurt i Courtney sastali poslije dužeg vremena, jer su i ona i on bili na turneji po Europi sa svojim bendovima. Prijatelji Kurta tvrde da on nikada nije koristio ili spominjao rohipnol.
9. Prva slijedeća prilika za atentat na Kurta se ukazala kad je on pobjegao iz centra Marina Del Rej za rehabilitacija i skidanje od narkotika, u Kaliforniji 28. marta, a 30. marta je već bio u Seattlu. Bilo je samo pitanje ko će prvi stići do njega, policija ili atentatori. Cobain usput kupuje pušku Remington 11, kalibar 22 – sačmarica, vjerojatno za samobranu, kako je i rekao svom prijatelju Dylanu Carlson-u. Ista puška je iskorištena kao osiguranje da Cobain neće preživjeti još jedan atentat, te mu je reznesen mozak, pored ogromne doze heroina koja mu je ubrizgana.
10. U isto vrijeme, kada kreće potraga za Kurtom, njegova žena odbija da pomogne u istrazi i da dođe u Seattle, opravdavajući to nekim poslovima i obavezama u Los Anegeles-u. Šta može da bude bitnije od pronalaženja nestalog muža?! Jedino atentat na njega. Iznajmila je privatnog detektiva – Tom Grant, koji je umjesto da bude poslušna marioneta, bio prva osoba koja je shvatila i iznijela činjenice u javnost da Cobain nije izvršio samoubojstvo i da on vjeruje da Courtney stoji iza ubojstva kao glavni organizator, ali ne i izvršilac, jer je bila u LA-u 5. aprila.
11. Kurta su ubili 5. aprila 1994. Sad je ostalo samo još tijelo da se nađe. Prošao je jedan dan. Ništa. Prošao je još jedan dan – opet ništa. Zatim Courtney počinje da NAVODI istragu na njihovu Greenhouse kuću u Seattleu i preko telefona govori Kurtovom najboljem prijatelju”Check the Greenhouse!” On to nije učinio i prolazi JOŠ jedan dan. Zatim u panici, ona zove lokalnu Security kompaniju da započnu radove na sigurnosnim svijetlima oko njihove kuće. Oni šalju radnika i on pronalazi tijelo u 8:40 am 8. aprila 1994. Čovjek se zove naravno – Gary Smith.
12. Za to vrijeme neko i dalje koristi Kurtovu kreditnu karticu!
13. Policija u Seattleu je za 3 SATA zatvorila slučaj, proglasila da je bilo u pitanju samoubojstvo, pronađena je puška, oproštajno pismo. Nije uopće urađen toksikološki test niti su forenzičari izašli na teren. Policija ignorira činjenicu da su svi Kurtovi prijatelji svjedočili da on nije bio suicidalan.
14. Zatim, vrhunac i krunski dokaz koji ukazuje da je Kurt ubijen je loše ukomponirana uloga sačmarice u čitavu ovu priču. Maksimalna doza heroina, koju bi najotporniji narkoman mogao da podnese je 75 do 80 mg heroina, što izaziva 0,5 mg po litru morfija u krvi ( heroin je derivat opijuma, a morfij derivat heroina ). Kod Cobaina je ustanovljeno da je imao 1,52 mg po litru morfija u krvi, što znači da se upucao sa 225 – 240 mg heroina – što je tri puta veća doza od smrtonosne. Za one koji nisu narkomani, i 10 mg heroina može biti fatalna doza, a ovdje je u pitanju 240 mg!
15. Prema svim studijama, ovakva doza heroina izaziva neposrednu i trenutnu smrt, čineći čovjeka potpuno onesposposobljenim. I sad, znači Cobain je nadčovjek koji je imun na ovoliku dozu heroina i ima snage da uzme sačmaricu i da je stavi u usta i opali. Ti koji su montirali čitavo ovo ubojstvo, čak nisu vodili računa ni o dužini puške, jer Remington 11 je tolika sačmarica, da Cobain nije nikako mogao da jedan kraj stavi u usta, a prstima da dohvati okidač – pod uvjetom da je uspjeo da ignorira tri puta veću dozu heroina od maksimalne. Željeo se samo postići dramski efekt i osiguranje da ovaj put se Kurt neće izvući. Sve je montirano, sa jakom podrškom insajdera u policiji, koja i dan danas odbija da otvori slučaj ponovo. Otvorit će ga kad on zastari i kad glavni krivci ili više ne budu živi ili budu pred kraj svog života. Jeftina američka priča. 16. Veoma zanimljiva stvar je opet oproštajno pismo – novo, iz Seattlea, u kome Kurt se obraća publici i navodi razloge zašto napušta svijet muzike, zašto napušta Nirvanu, Seattle Courtney... Nigdje nije rekao da će napustiti zemlju! A, onda neko dopisuje posljednjih nekoliko redova kako bi to izgledalo kao oproštajno pismo. Upoređivan je rukopis Courtney sa tim dopisanim redovima i pogodite što je ustanovljeno!.
17. Na pušci nema jasnih otisaka prstiju koji ukazuju da ju je Kurt držao, a proglašeno je da se njom ubio!
18. Niti u jednoj studiji u zadnjih 30 godina, ne postoji nijedan slučaj samoubojstva u Americi u kome su bili korišteni i vatreno oružje i narkotici kao overdose. Zašto bi se neko ubijao sa 2 različite stvari!? Sve ovo podsjeća na Alana Forda i na jednu epizodu u kojoj se spominje lik koji je izvršio samoubojstvo sa 256 ispaljenih metaka u sebe!
zaostali i depresivni gradić na sjeverozapadu Sjedinjenih američkih država, u blizini Seattlea. Djetinjstvo mu je bilo sretno do osme godine, a onda su počele nesuglasice između njegovih roditelja. Noćima je sjedio na svome krevetu i slušao kako se mama i tata svađaju. " Mrzim mamu. Mrzim tatu. Tata mrzi mamu. Mama mrzi tatu. Zbog toga jednostavno moraš biti tužan", napisao je u jednoj pjesmi iz tog vremena. Roditelji su mu se na kraju razveli i Kurt je živio na različitim mjestima - kod djeda i bake, kod mame, kod tate, kod prijatelja, a neko je vrijeme bio i beskućnik. U srednjoj školi upoznao je Chrisa Novoselica, s kojim ga je povezala ljubav prema glazbi, osobito prema punku. Zajedno su osnovali prvi bend, Stiff Woodies, u kojem je Kurt svirao bubnjeve. Ime grupe mijenjalo se nekoliko puta, sve dok 1989. Kurt nije smislio ono pravo - Nirvana. Sinulo mu je to pošto je na televiziji gledao dokumentarac o budizmu. U budističkoj filozofiji nirvana označava stanje najvećeg blaženstva, oslobođenje od svih životnih briga i težnji. U lipnju 1989. godine Nirvana je snimila prvi album "Bleach". Na njemu je i pjesma "About A Girl", posvećena Kurtovoj prvoj velikoj ljubavi, Tracy Merender. Dvije godine poslije, 1991., dotadašnja bubnjara Chada Chaninga zamjenjuje Dave Grohl, a Nirvana snima legendarni album "Nevermind". Pjesma "Smells Like Teen Spirit" s tog albuma uskoro dospijeva na prvo mjesto top ljestvica i Kurt, Chris i Dave postaju velike zvijezde. To je vrijeme možda bilo najsretnije u Kurtovu životu. Glazba ga je ispunjavala, a upoznao je i svoju srodnu dušu - Courtney Love. Njih dvoje bili su istodobno i slični i potpuno različiti. Ona je bila problematična, divlja i neprilagođena osoba i neki vjeruju da je prečesto iskorištavala njegovu osjećajnost. Vjenčali su se 24. veljače 1992., a u kolovozu se rodila njihova kći Francis Bean. Iako je tvrdio da ga je rođenje Francis promijenilo i da želi postat odgovoran otac, Kurt ipak nije uspio pobijediti unutarnje demone koji su ga razarali. Mučile su ga teške depresije i strašni bolovi u želucu, a ovisnost o heroinu samo je pogoršavala njegovo stanje. Kurtovo mrtvo tijelo pronađeno je u rano jutro 8. travnja 1994., na podu njegove luksuzne kuće u Seattleu. Samoubojstvo sačmaricom, glasilo je službeno izvješće. Kurt je iza sebe ostavio oproštajno pismo, prekrasnu kćer, stotine divnih pjesama i milijune više nego vjernih fanova koji ga nikad neće zaboraviti...

Bureaucratic Desire For Revenge - the CD single by Earth that Kurt played on. Kurt played guitar on "A Bureaucratic Desire For Revenge Parts 1 and 2". It was considered a CD single, but the three tracks lasted 32 minutes. It was released in 1991 on Sub Pop.
Beans - rare track, allegedly from the Ted, Ed and Fred demos in 1988. Recorded in '86, "The Beans Session". Other songs recorded include Verse Chorus Verse (acoustic version, known as "Sappy") and Misery Loves Company.

Channing, Chad - the drummer for Nirvana from 1986-1990. He played on most of the songs on Bleach and left the band before Nevermind. Many songs on Incesticide are songs from studio sessions that Chad took part in.
Clean Up Before She Comes - rare track, recorded on a four track by Kurt in Seattle '87.
Cobain, Kurt - the front man of Nirvana. He sang and played guitar throughout the band's career, from 1985 to 1994. He wrote almost every song including numerous hit singles and lead the band through four albums. Nirvana ended in 1994 when Kurt was found dead on April 8th. He allegedly committed suicide.
Come as You Are - song #3 on Nevermind and song #2 on Unplugged. The Nevermind version was released as a single in February of 1992. It's B-sides include "School" and "Drain You", both live versions recorded 10/31/91 in Seattle. Some singles also include "Endless, Nameless", the secret song on most pressings of Nevermind. Nirvana shot a video for this in '92, and recently it was named the 12th best alternative video of all time by MTV. Lithium written by Kurt Cobain.
Crisco - rare track, known only to have been played once on 11/29/91 in Glasgow, Scotland. It is also known as "Rock Whore".
Crover, Dale - drummer of the Melvins who took the drummer position temporarily for several months until Chad Channing joined the band. He played on several tracks on Bleach and Incesticide.
Curmudgeon - the B-side on the "Lithium" single. Recorded in April of 1992 by Barret Jones at the Laundry Room Studios. Dave Grohl plays drums on this track. It was also played live only once, on 11/23/91 in Belgium.

Dazed and Confused - rare track, a cover song of Led Zeppelin. Kurt and Chris played parts of the song while Chad Channing was repairing his snare drum. It was played only this once by Nirvana on 11/26/89 in Mezzago, Italy.
Dementia 7 (D7) - originally written by Greg Sage and the Wipers. Nirvana recorded in a John Peel Session 1991. It first appeared on the six song import "Hoarmoaning", and later was released on the "Lithium" UK single.
DGC (David Geffen Company) - Nirvana's record company for their final five official albums.
Dive - song #1 on Incesticide, first appeared as the B-side on the Sliver 7" single. It was recorded at Smart Studios, Wisconsin in April 1990 by Butch Vig. Do You Love Me? - track that appeared on "Hard to Believe: A KISS Compilation". The band recorded the song in a college studio ? for free. The next time they heard it it was on the KISS comp.

Down in the Dark - a song by Mark Lanegan that Kurt and Chris played guitar on. It appeared on his 1990 release "The Winding Sheet".

Heart Shaped Box - song #3 on In Utero. Released as a single on August 23, 1993, the first single off of In Utero. B-sides include "Milk It" (from In Utero) and "Marigold", which included Dave Grohl on guitar and vocals, and Kurt Cobain on drums. Marigold was recorded during the In Utero sessions in March 1993. They also shot a video for it in 1993, and later added another scene of Kurt lying down in flowers. The video was voted Best Video by the fans at the MTV Music Awards in 1994, several months after Kurt had died. Written by Kurt Cobain.
Help Me, I'm Hungry - rare track, played several times in '89, including 11/5/89 in Melkweg, Amsterdam Holland, 11/8/89 in Koln, Germany, and 11/22/89 in Vienna, Austria.
Here She Comes Now - a cover song of the Velvet Underground. Appeared on "Heaven and Hell: A Tribute to the Velvet Underground Vol. 1". It was also released on a split 7" single, along with the Melvins version of "Venus in Furs". Here She Comes Now was recorded at the Laundry Room studios, 1990. Both songs are written by Lou Reed and originally performed by the Velvet Underground.
High on the Hog - rare track, played only once as the set closer for the 11/26/89 show with TAD in Mezzago, Italy.
Harmoaning - a six song CD that was released only as an import. It was released in between Nevermind and Incesticide in January of 1991. The songs include "Turnaround", "Aneurysm", "D-7", "Son of a Gun", "Even in His Youth" and "Molly's Lips". D-7, Aneurysm and Even in His Youth later appeared on singles, while the rest are now on Incesticide.

Immigrant Song - rare track, a cover song of Led Zeppelin. It was played only once by Nirvana, 12/21/88 at Hoquaim, WA. This was Nirvana's second known show.
Immodium - early version of Breed, with different lyrics. Recorded 11/89.
In Bloom - song #2 on Nevermind. It was also released as a single: the 7" and cassette singles were released November 30, 1992, and CD singles were released on December 7 1992. It's B-sides include "Sliver" and "Polly", both live versions recorded 12/28/91 in Del Mar, CA. Nirvana also shot two videos for In Bloom, one in 1990, which got no air play, but the Nevermind version was a big hit. All songs written by Kurt Cobain.

Tupelo versions of the single were released in January 1991, due to pressing difficulties. First 3000 copies of the Sub Pop 7" were pressed on either blue-marbled or pink vinyl. The first 2000 copies of the Tupelo 7" were pressed on green vinyl. The Tupelo CD contains no credits, nor is the Tupelo company mentioned on the CD packaging. The single version also included an answering machine message at the end of Sliver. The message was left off of Incesticide. Dan Peters plays drums on Sliver. Chad Channing plays drums on Dive. Prvi put od 2001. godine, otkad postoji Forbesova lista najveće ostvarene posthumne zarade, Elvis Presley nije na vrhu. S 50 milijuna dolara posthumno zarađenih u prošloj godini na vrhu se našao Kurt Cobain, preminuli frontmen grupe Nirvana. Na listi se nalaze i John Lennon, Albert Einstein, Ray Charles, Marilyn Monroe, Bob Marley, George Harrison te mnoga druga poznata imena za koje interes ne jenjava mnogo godina nakon (najčešće prerane i tragične) smrti.
okolnosti njegove smrti još nisu do kraja poznate. Naime, iako je u policijskom izvješću pod uzrokom smrti navedno samoubojstvo, neki forenzičari koji su radili na slučaju ne podržavaju tu tezu. Osim toga, nije sigurno je li Cobain autor spornog pisma u kojem navodno najavljuje da će ostaviti tadašnju suprugu Courtney Love i otići iz glazbenog biznisa.
Iako je davno prestala s radom, grupa Nirvana i danas ima brojne poklonike u svijetu, a njihov lider Kurt Cobain smatra se pionirom grungea, glazbenog pravca koji je obilježio devedesete godine prošlog stoljeća. Last Days, r. Gus Van Sant
Stidljivo najavljen Van Santov film labavo oslonjen na priču o smrti Kurta Cobaina uvršten je u cannesku službenu konkurenciju. Što nas čeka - u kratkim crtama.
Najavili vam jesmo još tamo prije godinu dana da se stari nezavisni lisac Van Sant misli pozabaviti malo rock'n'roll izdancima sa zapadne američke obale, nevjerojatno sličnim Nirvani i ostalim grungerima (what.tha.fuck.is.grunge!), a sve to zajedno s dragim i mladim prijateljima/glumcima/redateljicama, društvancem koje se već do sada nebrojeno puta ispreplelo u raznim projektima. Tada je to bila skromna najava filma pod imenom 'Last Days' koju bi producentski podržao HBO (partner i na 'Slonu'), a sudbina joj kinoprikazivačka bijaše upitna.
Evo nas godinu dana kasnije na istom mjestu. Film je, među ostalim uratcima velikana sedme umjetnosti, odabran za službenu konkurenciju Cannes film festivala. Mirišemo li mi to canneskog miljenika?! Naime, prije dvije je godine Zlatna palma potpuno otkačila na pregenijalnog 'Slona'. Nastranu s nekim podijeljenim dojmovima, film je zaslužio do jedan zlatni palmin listić. I više od toga, usuđujem se ustvrditi nakon što smo svjedočili prošlogodišnjem pobjedniku (Farhrenheit 9/11).
Michael Pitt glavni je glumac čiji lik problematičnog pjevača kojem je ostalo samo 48 zadnjih sati života i neodoljivo podsjeća na pokojnog Cobaina, ali unatoč istoj životnoj priči i identičnom izgledu – to ipak nije Kurt. Ono što je Van Sant htio postići ovom pričom je određeni lament nad tim posljednjim satima megapopularnog, ali istovremeno i strašno povučenog pjevača. No, govorimo o Blakeu, a ne o Kurtu kao što ste mogli pomisliti. Naravno da je priča inspirirana svršetkom života Nirvaninog pjevača, ali ova je konstrukcija događaja potpuno fiktivna.
Već desetak godina iščekujemo filmsku priču o liku i djelu Kurta Cobaina, a sad je izgleda napokon došao i taj čas! Njegova udovica Courtney Love potpisala je ugovor sa studiom Universal, a na projektu će surađivati kao izvršna producentica. Film će biti ekranizacija knjige 'Heavier Than Heaven', koju je napisao Charles Cross koristeći se neobjavljenim Cobainovim dnevničkim zapisima i intervjuirajući njegove prijetelje i obitelj. Dosada je Kurt inspirirao nekoliko filmova, od kojih su najznačajniji Gus Van Santov 'Posljednji dani' i dokumentarni 'Kurt Cobain: About a Son'.
Zasada nije poznato kakvu će ulogu u ovome filmu imati preživjeli članovi Nirvane - Krist Novoselic i Dave Grohl, koji nisu u najboljim odnosima sa Courtney. Inače pričalo se da je upravo ona za glavnu ulogu odabrala Ewana McGregora. Zasada nema vijesti o redatelju, ali se zna da scenarij piše David Benioff, koji je radio na '25. satu', kontroverznom 'Kite Runneru', a trenutno radi na 'Wolverineu'.
'Wolverine' je priča o liku koji se na velikom platnu pojavio u 'X-man: Posljednja fronta', a ponovo će ga odglumiti Hugh Jackman. On ipak neće biti usamljeni mutant jer, kako javlja Varitey, u filmu će se pojaviti neki likovi iz X-mena, ali i neki posve novi. Film će se baviti Wolverineovom nasilnom i romantičnom prošlosti, a pojasniti će i kako je dobio svoje nadljudske moći.

Govoreći jezikom iskusne budale koja bi očito radije bila ponižena, djetinjasta, tužna, ova poruka bi trebalo biti prilično jasna. Sva upozorenja, od mog upoznavanja sa etikama zajedno sa nezavisnošću i zagrljajem vaše zajednice, su se pokazala veoma istinitim. Ja nisam osjećao toliko uzbuđenje slušajući muziku koliko stvarajući je i pišući je toliko godina. Osjećam se krivim radi ovih riječi, npr. kada se povučemo sa bine i pogase se svjetla i kada me masa ljudi zove na bis, to me ne pogađa na isti način kao i Freddy Mercurija koji je, tako se činilo, volio biti obožavan i voljen od te iste mase ljudi, što je nešto što ja veoma cijenim i čeznem. Ja ne mogu od vas napraviti budalu, nikoga od vas, jednostavno nije fer za vas i za mene. najgori čin, koji ja mogu zamisliti, bio bi varajući ljude i folirati da imam 100% zabavu. Ponekad osjećam da bi trebalo osvijestiti se prije nego što izađem na binu. Ja sam pokušao napraviti sve što je u mojoj moći, jesam, Bože, vjeruj mi da jesam, ali to nije dovoljno. Ja poštujem činjenicu da sam utjecao na mnoge ljude.Ja mora da sam jedan od onih narcisoidnih ljudi koji poštuju stvari tek onda kad one nestanu. Ja sam preosjetljiv. Ja bih morao biti lijena osoba koja potcjenjuje a da bih dobio zanos za sve ljude koje osobno znam i za fanove Nirvanine muzike. Svi mi imamo nešto dobro u sebi, i ja mislim da jednostavno previše volim ljude, ali ja jednostavno ne mogu preći preko frustracija, osjećaja krivnje i empatije koju osjećam prema svakom, tako je osjećam da me čini jebeno tužnim. Malog tužnog, osjetljivog, nepoštovanog čovjeka, Isuse, čovjeka!!!
Zašto jednostavno ne možeš uživati? Ne znam, imam poštovanje žene sa slatkim ambicijama i moje kćeri koja me toliko podsjeća na ono što sam ja nekad bio: pun ljubavi i uživanja, prolazeći mirno pored svake osobe misleći da je svako dobar i da me neće povrijediti. To me muči do neke granice koju ne mogu zamisliti. Ne mogu podnijeti misao da Frances postane samouništivi roker koji će se ubiti kao što sam ja postao. Ja sam velik, ali od moje sedme godine ja sam postao mrzovoljan prema svima uopće. Samo zbog toga jer se činilo previše lako za ljude da budu zajedno i da budu empatični. Empatija! Samo zbog toga jer je previše volim i osjećam se žalosno za ljude. Hvala svima za zabrinutost i pisma tokom ovih godina. Ja sam previše zlovoljan, baby! Nemam više želje ni za što i stoga zapamti: BOLJE JE IZGORIJETI NEGO IZBLJEDJETI! MIR, LJUBAV, SLOGA.

Courtney Love je odlučila: Ewan McGregor glumit će Kurta Cobaina u 'Heavier Than Heaven', prvoj autoriziranoj filmskoj biografiji frontmena Nirvane.
Od potencijalnih kandidata za ulogu Kurta Cobaina u filmu 'Heavier than Heaven' koji nastaje prema istoimenoj knjizi Charlesa Crossa, Courtney Love je odabrala Ewana McGregora. Iako je u 35-oj, mladolika zvijezda 'Trainspottinga' i 'Ratova zvijezda' glumit će frontmena Nirvane koji je počinio samoubojstvo u 27.
Za ulogu se javio velik broj kandidata, no Courtney je odlučila da je Škot najbolji izbor. Još nije odabrala studio, niti redatelja, premda ponude pršte, a koliko je poznato, ni scenarij još nije napisan. Unatoč svemu tome, Love je sigurna kako će film, bude li ikad snimljen biti A produkcija. Love, koju su fanovi Nirvane optuživali da je upravo ona otjerala Kurta u grob, nakon tragedije se nije ponovno udavala i, dok socijalne službe ne odluče suprotno, živi s njihovom kćeri, sad tinejdžericom Frances Bean.
Ovo nije prvi pokušaj filmske biografije Kurta Cobaina. Gus Van Sant je 2005. snimio film 'Posljednji dani' inspiriran Cobainovom tragičnom sudbinom, no taj se film bavi životom Blakea (Michael Pitt), glazbenika iz Seattlea čija karijera samo podsjeća na Cobainovu, pa je film koji Love najavljuje zapravo prva Cobainova autorizirana biografija.
Prije no što uskoči u problematičnu Cobainovu kožu, McGregor će posuditi glas za crtić 'Jackboots on Whitehall', uvrnutu lutkarsku satiru debitantskog redatelja Edwarda McHenrya koja se bazira na fiktivnoj tezi da su Nijemci pobijedili u bitci za Veliku Britaniju u 2. svj. Ratu.
Kojeg god godišta bili, nema šanse da slučajno niste čuli za Kurt Cobaina i Nirvanu, jednu od najznačajnijih grupa '90-ih, koja je u svojih samo nekoliko godina djelovanja ostavila toliko puno, promijenila smjer kretanja rocka i postala legendarnom, upravo zahvaljujući svom divnom, ludom, poremećenom, senzitivnom frontmanu Kurtu Cobainu, koje si je davne 1994. 5.-og travnja oduzeo život pucajući si sačmaricom u glavu (navodno), smatrajući to jedinim izlazom za bijeg od slave.
Ukoliko ste tada bili njihov fan, kao što sam to bila ja, mogli ste na starom dobrom MTV-ju pratiti razne emisije, biografije, koncerte i reportaže s mjesta događanja (njihove -Kurta i Courtney- skromne kućice u Seattleu) pa i izjavu stanovitog detektiva koji je vrlo jasno obrazložio i potkrijepio dokazima da se nije moglo raditi o samoubojstvu jer položaj otisaka prstiju na pušci ne odgovara smjeru i daljini iz koje je pucano, a i količina heroina u tijelu ubila bi ga na licu mjesta odmah nakon ubrizgavanja, jer je bila ogromna, te s tim svim sigurno ne bi mogao ni primiti pušku, a kamoli okinuti... Dakle, nikad nećemo saznati što se zapravo dogodilo, činjenica je samo da njega nema...
Očito je sve u Kurtovom životu imalo dvije strane, a često i više! Tako i ovaj "Dnevnik" počinje s: "Ne čitaj moj dnevnik kad me ne bude.", a red nakon "O.K. Sad ću raditi, kad se ujutro probudiš, pročitaj moj dnevnik. Prođi kroz moje stvari i procijeni me."
Čitajući "Dnevnike" (iako to nisu obični stereotipni dnevnici s datumom, pa bok, dnevniče, pa scenarij što se zbivalo tog dana, već mnoštva planova, skica, stihova, pjesama, nota, maštarija, popisa, ilustracija, stripova i sl.) i mene su razdirali osjećaji- prvo neke krivnje (jer ipak "Dnevnici" su bili ono nešto njegovo privatno), zatim ljutnje na njegovu ljubljenu ženicu 'đankozu', Courtney Love, koja ih je prodala novinarima za 4 milijuna dolara, i konačno intrige i izrazitog zanimanja: što je to on napisao, kako je razmišljao i čime se sve bavio... Nakon pročitane knjige, osjećaj tuge bio je prevelik, jer je i ovo bila samo još jedna potvrda da se radilo o iznimno inteligentnom, osjećajnom, sarkastičnom, poremećenom biću, velikom umjetniku ne samo na muzičkom planu, već i likovnom, i strašno usamljenom..
Sve je počelo jako nevino, naivno i banalno: i on je bio jedan od teenagera koji je htio svoju gitaru i bend i demo i EP i LP i koncerte, stalno je sastavljao top liste sebi najdražih i najboljih bendova, albuma i pjesama, radio je svakakve poslove, većinom je čistio, skupljao je novce da si ubode gitaru, pa je hodočastio po muzičkim dućanima, svi su ga preveslavali, i konačno si ju je priuštio jednog dana. Druga preokupacija bio mu je sex (i riječ fuck u bilo kojem smislu).
Skladao je čudne stihove i pisao pisma prijateljima (koja često nije ni poslao). Bilo kome da piše (frendu iz srednje, curi, bivšoj curi, tati, bubnjaru Melvinsa, Vaselinesima, Mudhoneyju,..), a pisma se protežu kroz cijelu knjigu, uvijek izjavljuje da ih voli, cijeni, da mu napišu natrag nešto ako im nije problem i ako imaju vremena, u biti čezne za kontaktom i komunikacijom, ali se nipošto ne želi nametati, i zato pisma odišu snažnim emocijama, sarkazmom, humorom, često i kojom prostačinom i ponekad besmislom na prvi pogled, ali u svemu se ipak nađe značenje. U tom početku stvarno se osjećao zanos i snaga da se nešto napravi iz ničega, i priželjkivala se slava, a na kraju se nije znao snositi s posljedicama koje mu je svjetska popularnost donijela.Tragično. Tužno. I baš šteta.
Zbilja je zanimljivo i vrlo uznemirujuće kako je to početničko ushićenje splasnulo i pretvorilo se u rutinu i dosadu i kako je nestalo inspiracije i uopće volje i želje za životom. I jasno je davao do znanja i pjesmama i postupcima i riječima da namjerava napustiti ovaj naš svijet i zbilju (npr. za album "In Utero" napisao je da je "posvećen mrtvim rođacima, koji su na sigurnom, topli i puni sretnih osmijeha...")
No, par stvari se nije promijenilo do samog kraja, osjećaj krivnje što je bio Amerikanac i još uz to to bijelac i ljutnja prema tzv. rock kritičarima i desničarima. Pred kraj ogorčenost se samo povećavala, u početku je bilo ono tipično psovanje i pljuvanje, a kasnije puno žešća razina, da navedem samo jadan primjer: "Ja sam daleko od toga da bih sjedio i ležerno raspravljao s desničarima opsjednutima kontrolom svega, koji su glavni krivci za uništavanje umjetnosti. Neću vam to mirno i doslovno objašnjavati! Jebote, ubijat ću. Uništit ću vaše jebeno mačo, sadističko, bolesno desničarski, religiozno uvredljivo mišljenje o tome kako bismo svi mi trebali funkcionirati pod vašim uvjetima. Prije nego umrem mnogi će umrijeti sa mnom i to će zaslužiti. Vidimo se u paklu. S ljubavlju, Kurdt Cobain. Hvala na tragediji, trebam je za svoju umjetnost..." (Ovo Kurdt nije tipfeler, naime, Kurt se često tako potpisivao).
Također vrlo uznemirujuća, ali i dovoljno jasna činjenica je i kako i zašto je postao ovisnik o heroinu, velikom 'H' kako ga je često nazivao. Prvi put ga je upotrijebio u svojim bilježnicama dok je opisivao susret s Melvinsima, naročito njihovim bubnjarom Buzzom, kada je zapisao: "Među novostima bio je i H (koji dosta mijenja čovjeka), Buzz ga je trošio..." Kasnije se dosta često u biti opravdava zašto ga je i on sam koristio, koliko dugo i uvjerava (valjda sam sebe) da nije ovisnik. Naime, Kurt je bolovao od nečega što mu je uzrokovalo gadne bolove u želucu, i nemogućnost jedenja, bez da nakon toga ne izbaci sve iz sebe. Milijarde pretraga, guranja cijevi u želudac, a da mu nikad niti jedan doktor nije rekao u biti što mu je, zašto se tako osjeća i što će mu pomoći. Samo jaki lijekovi, a o njima postaješ ovisan.
Pa, budući da su ga svi smatrali junkijem, zašto on to ne bi i postao. I tako je mjesec dana bio na heroinu, bilo mu je lakše, nije postao ovisnik, tada mu je bilo ok, nije ga bolilo ništa, skinuo se s njega, ali nakon je sve opet bilo po starom. ("Now I forget just why I taste, oh yeah I guess it makes me smile..." - čuveni stih najvećeg hita s kojim se Nirvana upisala u legende i vječnost "Smells Like Teen Spirit"). I zasigurno niste znali da je Teen Spirit parfem koji je voljela nositi Kurtova bivša djevojka Tobi Vail.
Iz stranice u stranicu, čitajući "Dnevnike", čas ćete umirati od smijeha, zatim ćete se pitati o čemu on sad to priča (iliti 'what the hell??'), povezivat ćete link po link i u biti shvatiti da je čovjek čak predvidio svoju budućnost u čudnovatim maštarijama proizašlim iz puke zajebancije (tri osvojena Grammyja, 36 tjedana na prvom mjestu Billboardove ljestvice, dva puta na naslovnici Rolling Stonea, od strane Newsweeka i Timesa prozvani najoriginalnijim, najprovokativnijim i najvažnijim bendom '90-ih...).
Naići ćete na mnoštvo skica pjasama prije nego su se uobličile u svoj savršen konačan oblik, tekstove koji će se samo svojim manjim dijelom redova kasnije pretočitii u svima nam dobro poznate hitove, mnoštvo komentara i opaska urednika koji su totalno na mjestu i odgovaraju stilu pisanja "Dnevnika" te nam pobliže objašnjavaju o kojim osobama, stvarima ili pojavama se radi u njegovim bilješkama, tekst je preveden zaista najbolje što se moglo, naravno u svakom prijevodu se gubi dio izvornoga duha, ali tu jedva da se osjeti taj gubitak...Naravno, na svakoj stranici nalazi se i skenirana originalna stranica Kurtove bilježnice, u cijeloj svojoj magičnoj privlačnosti, dječje (ne)uredno, simpatično, s bezbroj sitnih detaljčića koji nam oduzimaju pažnju.
Još bih vam puno toga htjela prenijeti i podijeliti s vama, ali moja preporuka za vas je da uzmete "Dnevnike" u ruke i doživite Kurta na svoj način, da pokušate shvatiti ono neshvaćeno i budete svjedoci gašenja jednog velikog umjetnika, koji nam više nije mogao lagati i pretvarati se da uživa u postignutom snu.

05.04.2005. (utorak) jedanaest godina od smrti Kurt Cobaina. KOSA ANĐELA - Biografija Kurt Cobaina, Autor: Charless R.Cross, Nakladnik IBS d.o.o. Povodom 11-godišnjice smrti Kurta Cobaina (1967-1994), jednog od najvećih, ako ne i najvećeg, rock-glazbenika devedesetih, IBS izdaje njegovu cjelovitu biografiju "Kosa Anđela", knjigu autora Charlesa R. Crossa, iskusnog novinara i pisca, s višegodišnjim iskustvom iz uredništva glazbenog časopisa Rocket, koji je izlazio u Seattleu (prijestolnici grungea, pravca u rock glazbi, čijim se neokrunjenim kraljem moglo smatrati upravo Kurta Cobaina) i godinama prati događanja na rock i alternativnoj sceni.
08.04.1994. tijelo Kurta Cobaina pronađeno je u stakleniku iznad garaže velike obiteljske kuće u elitnom dijelu Seattlea. Kurt si je oduzeo život nekoliko dana prije toga, dok je, na nesreću njegovih najbližih, ostao sam u kući tijekom jedne od brojnih psihičkih kriza koje je proživljavao u svom kratkom, a umjetnički prebogatom životu.
Kao frontmen grupe Nirvana (najpoznatiju postavu čine, pored gitare i vokala Kurta Cobaina, basist hrvatskog porijekla Krist Novoselic i bubnjar Dave Grohl, koji je karijeru nastavio svojim bendom Foo Fighters) doživio je vrtoglav uspjeh krajem 1991. izlaskom albuma Nevermind, koji je oborio sve rekorde i na američke top liste ušao pod brojem 1. Kao autor svih Nirvaninih tekstova i velike većine pjesama, Kurt je bio pokretačka snaga benda, koji je u kratko vrijeme osvojio svijet. Isto tako, Nirvana je često otkazivala čak i čitave turneje zbog njegovog psihičkog i fizičkog stanja, koje je odlično prikazano u ovoj knjizi. Autor, Charles R. Cross, polovicom devedesetih, upustio se u iscrpno istraživanje Kurtovog života, doslovno od njegovog rođenja pa sve do smrti; knjigu je napisao na osnovu četiristotinjak intervjua, koje je obavio u razdoblju od pet godina, te crpeći informacije (ali i inspiraciju) iz Kurtovih intimnih dnevnika, s posebnim dopuštenjem Courtney Love, s kojom je Kurt bio u braku od 1992. do tragične smrti. Upravo odlomci iz tih dnevnika predstavljaju necenzuriranu tragediju američke rock zvijezde, što predstavlja svojevrstan paradoks modernog rock-idolopoklonstva, jer Cobain nikako nije htio postati rock ikona, nego ostati buntovni punker, koji svojom neurednom pojavom, politički nekorektnim stavovima i izazivanjem konzervativnih vrijednosti dokazuje svima da ga nije briga što drugi misle.
Razgovorima s Cobainovom najužom obitelji, svjedočenjima njegovih prijatelja iz srednje škole i podrobnim opisima njegovih mladenačkih problema knjiga 'Kosa anđela' uspješno objašnjava kako se generiralo Kurtovo snažno nezadovoljstvo, koje je obilježilo i njegov život i njegovu karijeru kao glazbenika i umjetnika. Fanovi Nirvane pronaći će izuzetno zanimljive, detaljne opise priprema za koncerte i zbivanja oko velikih glazbenih događaja, kao što su to bili MTV Music Awards 1992. ili nezaboravni nastup Nirvane na MTV Unpluggedu, a svaki, pa i najzahtjevniji čitatelj, bit će uvučen u koloplet najnevjerojatnijih situacija, koje su formirale Kurtovu osobnost i njegov glazbeni izričaj, a koje su malo poznate, inače Cobainu vrlo naklonjenoj, domaćoj publici.
Knjiga "Kosa anđela" je u Americi doživjela izuzetan uspjeh, koji ju je izdigao iznad desetaka drugih naslova o Cobainu, njegovoj smrti, životu, braku s Courtney Love i Nirvani, upravo zbog sveobuhvatnosti te biografije, koja ne dijeli aktere priče - čiju glavnu riječ vode Cobainove psihičke tegobe, autodestrukcija, ovisnosti i insajderski problemi u diskografskoj industriji - na dobre i zle te prave ili krive, a zapanjuje svojim realističnim prikazom života jedne superzvijezde iz žablje perspektive (stihovi jedne Cobainove pjesme eksplictno govore: "I'm a stain' – 'Ja sam mrlja"). S pogovorom Darka Glavana izdavačka kuća IBS iz Zagreba zaokružuje ovaj projekt i predstavlja našoj publici prvu knjigu o Kurtu Cobainu i Nirvani prevedenu na hrvatski. Kurt Cobain nije roden u Aberdeen-u, već u gradiću Hoquiam u blizini Aberdeen-a.
- Roditelji sva tri najbitnija člana Nirvane su bili razvedeni.
- Kurtov kućni broj dok je živio u Olimpiji je bio 352 - 0992
- Prvo razbijanje instrumenata na stage-u je bilo 30.10.1988.
- Prva pjesma koju je Kurt naučio svirati na gitari je bila Back in Black od AC DC.
- Spot za Sliver je snimljen u Kurtovoj garaži.
- Frances Bean Cobain je rođena 18.08.1992. u 7:48 am s 10 dana zakašnjenja.
- Da je Frances bila muško, zvala bi se Eugene.
- Krist je živio u Hrvatskoj godinu dana kad je imao 14 godina. Tečno govori hrvatski.
- Krist je napustio svijet glazbe poslije Nirvane i neuspjelih projekata sa Sweet 75 i Ayes Adrift. Sad se bavi lokalnom politikom u Seattlu.
- Kurt i Courtney su prohodali u ChiCagu 12.10.1991. a vjenčali su se na Havaima – Vaikiki 24.02.1992. Krist nije bio na vjenčanju, a Dave je.
- Courtney je bila starija od Kurta 2 godine.
- Oni su se često prijavljivali u hotelima pod imenom 'Mr and Mrs Simon Richie'- Sid Vicious-ovo pravo ime.
- Spencer Elden ( beba sa Nevermind-a ) ima platinijumsku kopiju albuma, koja mu visi iznad kreveta. Nije dobio ni jedan $ za tu fotografiju.
- Omiljeni bendovi Dave Grohl-a su Prodigy, Primus, Supergrass i Black Sabbath.
- Krist ima 2 mačke – zovu se Einstain i Doris.
- Teen Spirit je dezodorans koji postoji u oblicima : Baby, Puder i Kalifornija.
- Smells like Teen Spirit je napisala Kathleen Hanna iz grupe Bikini Kill na zidu u Kurtovoj sobi. On nije imao pojma da je to ime dezodoransa.
- Kurtova sestra se zove Kim, a Dave-ova Lisa.
- Pravo ime Courtney Love je Michelle Love Harrison.
- Imena prije NIRVANA imena su bila : Ted ED Fred, Bliss, Throat Oyster, Pen Cap Chew, Windowpane i Skid Row.
- U Nirvani je bilo 13 članova. Jedino su Kurt i Krist bili od samog početka. Najviše je prošlo neodgovarajućih bubnjara.
- Pjesma School ima 14 riječi.
- Poslije 2 tjedna od rođenja Frances, sud je proglasio Kurta i Courtney za nemarne roditelje i oduzeo im kćer. Potrošili su te godine 300.000$ na sudu da bi ju vratili. Ona je tada bila kod Courtney-ne sestre, Jamie Love.
- Posljednji Nirvanin koncert je bio u Minhenu 1. travnja 1994. “Terminal Einz” i trajao je 15 minuta.
- Nama najbliže održan Nirvanin koncert bio je u Ljubljani 27. veljače 1994. u Tivoliju.
- Kurt je nastavio sa uzimanjem heroina da bi ublažio bolove u trbuhu za koje ni jedan liječnik nije našao adekvatan lijek.
- Dave Grohl je izbačen iz katoličke škole zbog cjelodnevnog pušenja trave. Napustio je školovanje sa 17 godina.
- Najbitnije Kurtove djevojke bile su Tobi Vail i Tracy Merander.
- Kuća u Seattle-u u kojoj je živio Kurt i u kojoj je ubijen koštala je 1,1 mil $.
- Truplo mrtvog Kurta pronašao je električar Gary Smith.
- Kurtova omiljena igračka bila je plastični majmunčić CHIM-CHIM.
- Za Kurta je specijalno dizajnirana gitara Fender JAG-STANG, kombinacija Fender JAGUAR i MUSTANG dizajna. Tu gitaru koristi u spotu za Heart-Shaped Box.
- Na Unplugged in New York, koristio je Martin D-18E akustičnu gitaru iz 1958. godine, veoma rijedak primjerak.
- Axl Rose, seksistički egoist koji misli da mu svijet nešto duguje, nosio je šiltericu s natpisom NIRVANA u spotu za Don’t Cry, jer nije mogao sakriti svoju fascinaciju bendom iz Seattle-a. Šilterica je na krevetu pored njega, dok se njemu tresu ruke, a super model pokraj njega kao nešto zapisuje. Nirvana nije mogla smisliti G’N’R i odbili su poziv da sviraju na privatnoj gaži za Axl-ov 30.-ti rođendan te da krenu s njima i Metallica-om na veliku US turneju.
- Courtney Love je priznala 1996. da je uzimala heroin za vrijeme trudnoće.
- Kad su se vjenčali, Kurt i Courtney su živjeli kod gitarista grupe Hole – Eric Erlandson-a, koji ih je ubrzo zatim izbacio iz svog stana jer nije mogao podnijeti njihovo drogiranje i svinjac koji su ostavljali za sobom.
- Kurt je plakao na vjenčanju, a Courtney nije.
- Kurtov idol iz djetinjstva bio je Evil Kenevil.
- Prvi veliki Nirvanin koncert bio je u Motor Sports Centru 22. rujna 1990. pred 1500 posjetilaca. To je jedini koncert na kojem je Danny Peters svirao bubnjeve, a Dave Grohl je bio u publici.
- Tada se prodavala Nirvanina majica “FUDGE PACKIN’, CRACK SMOKIN’, SATAN WORKSHIPIN’ MOTHERFUCKERS”.
- Puška kojom je ubijen Kurt Cobain je sačmarica Remington 11, kalibar 22, teška 3 kilograma i koštala je 300 $. Kupljena je na ime Dylan-a Carlsona, Kurtovog najboljeg prijatelja.
- Cobain je imao 3 puta više heroina u krvi od maksimalne doze, što znači da nije mogao uzeti pušku i pucati u sebe nakon ubrizgavanja 225 mg heroina, jer tolika doza izaziva neposrednu i trenutnu smrt.
- El Duce ( Elodon Hoke ) je svjedočio da mu je Courtney nudila 50.000 $ da ubije Kurta. Dva puta je prošao na testu laži. Ubijen je 7 dana poslije iznošenja tvrdnje u javnost da je Courtney naručila ubojstvo Cobain-a.
- Dave Grohl svira gitaru i pjeva u grupi Foo Fighters, poslije Nirvane. To mu je matični bend. I dalje svira bubnjeve u raznim bendovima. Svirao je čak i za Pearl Jam u Australiji na 2 koncerta, jer se njihov bubnjar nije dobro osjećao. Često boravi s Taylor Hawkins-om na koncertima Foo Fightersa. Svirao je i sa Queens of the Stoneage, Killin’ Joke, Motorhead... Sada je i producent nekim bendovima. Foo Fighters-i imaju svoj HOME STUDIO, gde snimaju svoja LP izdanja.
- Dave bar jednom tjedno sanja Kurta i to je uglavnom u frazi : Ho, shit! You are alive!!! Nikad ga ne sanja da je mrtav. Dave je u Nirvani bio psihički najstabilniji.
- U Seattle-u se okupilo oko 7000 ljudi kad je objavljeno da je Cobain tragično izgubio svoj život. To je prvo masovno okupljanje tog tipa od smrti John-a Lenona.
- Na oproštajnom pismu je dopisano nekoliko posljednjih redova da bi izgledalo kao oproštajno pismo. Cobain nije mislio napustiti Zemlju, već napustiti Courtney, Nirvanu, glazbu i Seattle.
- Slučaj Cobain je bio otvoren samo 3 sata. Već 10 godina uspješno korumpirani vlastodršci odbijaju otvoriti RE-OPEN CASE, i dokazati da je Cobain ubijen, a ne da se ubio.
- Tom Grant, privatni detektiv, je prvi čovjek koji je bacio sumnju na zvaničnu verziju i iznio u javnost podatke koji je osporavaju. Granta je unajmila Courtney da pronađe Kurta, ali nije očekivala da će ju on staviti na listu kao prvu osumnjičenu za naručenje ubojstva svog muža i da je napadne – shvativši šta se događa.
- Prvi osumnjičeni za izvršenje ubojstva je Michael Dewitt, muška dadilja u rezidenciji Cobain-ovih.
- Kurta je prvi put pokušao ubiti u Rimu 3. ožujka 1994. s 50 tableta rohipnola pomješanih sa šampanjcem. Poslije toga Cobain je bio 20 sati u komi.
- Tom Grant je uspio pronaći Cobain-a 3. travnja, ali mu je pobjegao.
- Cobain je ubijen 5. aprila 1994. u 2 h pm u apartmanu iznad garaže u okviru kompleksa Greenhouse.
- Kurta je pronašao elktričar Gary Smith 8. travnja 1994. u 8:40 am.
- Kurt Cobain je kremiran 14. travnja 1994.
- Posljednja pjesma koju je Nirvana zajedno snimila u studiju je You Know You’re Right.
- Posljednja pjesma na Nevermind-u se zove Endless, Nameless ili the Noise Jam.
- Gitara kojom je snimljena pjesma Polly na Nevermind-u, imala je samo 5 žica.
- Heart-Shaped Box dobila je nagradu za Best Art Direction na MTV Video Music Awards 1994
- Kristu Novoseliću je pravo ime 'Krist' iako je on godinama koristio 'Chris'.
- Kurt je svoje ime slovkao kao : Curt Cobain, Kurdt Kobain, Kurdt Kobane.
- Eric Erlandson je koristio jednu od Kurtovih gitara u spotu 'Doll Parts' grupe Hole.
- Mike Mills je također svirao Kurtovu Jag Stang gitaru u R.E.M'-ovom 'What's the Frequency Kenneth?' spotu. Gitara je također korištena u R.E.M.-ovoj pjesmi posvečenoj Kurtu Cobainu - 'Let Me In.'
- 'Gallons Of Rubbing Alcohol Flow Through The Strip', posljednja pjesma na In Utero, snimljena je u Brazilu u siječnju 1993.
- Dave Grohl u spotu za Teen Spirit svira na crvenim bubnjevima marke Pearl.
- Prvi bend u kojem su Kurt i Krist svirali zajedno zvao se 'the Stiff Woodies.'
- Smells like Teen Spirit je prvi put uživo odsvirana 17.04.1991.

- 'Nevermind' nije riječ. Da bi bilo gramatički ispravno, moralo bi biti "Never mind." Ali to je već iskorišteno za album Sex Pistols-a.
